Saguaros After Sunset

Saguaro silhouettes rise into a deep blue sky above a narrow band of orange twilight. Craig's Tucson desert photograph uses a vertical frame to emphasize the height of the cacti and the changing color overhead. The dark forms hold their detail against the warmer horizon, then merge more quietly into the blue above. The scene preserves the gradual transition after sunset, when the desert's shapes remain clear even as their surfaces disappear.
