Lakes Beyond the Trees

Blue lakes and distant valleys spread below a rocky Swiss mountain viewpoint framed by conifers. Craig places this photograph on a family journey in 1982, part of the same sequence as his lake views from the road, now seen from higher up and farther away. The near trees give the panorama an intimate edge. Beyond them, rock and forest give way to water and pale ridges, holding the sense of a landscape discovered together, one viewpoint at a time.
