Suspended in the Clouds

A small red cable car hangs above a Swiss valley while clouds drift across the slopes below. Craig made this photograph from Mount Pilatus in June 1982, looking out from the summit as the landscape slipped in and out of view. The cable car occupies only a small part of that immense space. Pale cloud and deep green terrain create a sense of height, with a human journey suspended between them.
