Just Fiddling Around

A red and white crab holds to the reef, its speckled shell and raised claws emerging from dark water. Craig records this as a night-dive photograph made off Roatan, Honduras, in 1987. His title, Just Fiddling Around, gives the small encounter a playful turn. The close view rewards patience: bright markings and jointed limbs become the focus, bringing the viewer face to face with a reef resident that could easily disappear into its surroundings.
