Reef in Living Color

A luminous yellow-green sponge stands among darker reef forms in this Honduras underwater photograph. Craig records both the year, 1987, and the equipment behind the image: Kodachrome film and a Nikonos II camera. Those details place the vivid scene within his years of photographing beneath the surface. The eye moves from the sponge's bright opening into shadowed coral and surrounding blue water, finding an abundance of shapes in a small section of reef.
