Four Against the Sky

Four jets fly in close formation above distant mountains beneath wispy cloud. Craig identifies the scene as the Air Force Thunderbirds at a Kirtland Air Force Base air show in Albuquerque in 1988. The aircraft occupy only a small part of the sky, making their precise arrangement the detail that draws the eye. A mountain line anchors the view below, while the formation holds together in a brief display of coordination above the open landscape.
