The Open Nose
Shot on FilmThe raised nose of a C-5 Galaxy opens above a crowd of air-show visitors. Craig remembers being able to walk aboard at the front, pass through the cargo space and leave near the tail. The people below provide an immediate measure of the aircraft's immense scale. Broad wings, engines and the open nose turn a machine normally seen at a distance into a place to explore, preserving the curiosity of standing close to the workings of flight.
